| Chandra Smith has been swing dancing, both socially and for performance, since 2000.
Getting her start in Texas, she danced with the Night Owl Swing Gang for several years, including
a show at the Houston Rodeo. Since returning to Connecticut, she has had a premiere dance role
in the Thomaston Opera House's production of Swing! The Musical as well as performances with the
Crazylegs troupe based in Massachusetts. Chandra has taught Lindy Hop and East Coast Swing for Rice University in Houston and more recently in New Haven, CT for the Connecticut Swing Dance Society. Additionally, she assists with the CSDS Friday Practice Sessions as a peer guide. A versatile dancer, Chandra has a passion for fast Lindy Hop and smooth styling. Javier Johnson learned to feel the music in Atlanta in early 2005 and literally has not stopped dancing since. Now living in Hartford, he is a Vinnie's coordinator, Lindy Circle founder, All Bal amateur J&J champion, and CTLX President. He blends elements of Lindy Hop, Charleston and Balboa in an interesting soulful style. |
